Vancouver Sights, Sounds and Hotels

The statue of the town founder, Jack Deighton, stands in the heart of Gastown, the oldest part of Vancouver. Gastown was renovated in the 1970s, and the once dilapidated district is today a cheerful and sparkly neo-Victorian business district. Restaurants, bars, boutiques and galleries are housed in nineteenth-century office buildings, and old lamps edge the brick streets. Vendors and buskers populate the area and enhance the holiday feel. The world's first steam clock is located tt the western end of Water St where you can hear it toot every 15 minutes and see its works through glass panels.

Of course, if you are visiting Vancouver, then a trip to the oldest and one of the most picturesque parts of the city is compulsory. Vancouver's Gastown is full of interesting shops, restaurants, attractions and, of course, people and promises to be worth all the time spent there. At the end of an adventurous day, return to your choice of the marvellous Vancouver hotels to unwind in comfort.
